Our Materials

Solid Gold

Our pieces are 10K and 14K solid gold. It is the best quality of gold jewelry there is. The 'K' refers to the karat weight, which is used to measure the purity of the gold or gold alloy. Solid Gold pieces can be worn every day without tarnishing, and generally appreciate in value over time.

Gold Filled

Gold Filled jewelry is a popular alternative to solid gold because it offers a similar look at a more affordable price point. The base material for gold filled jewelry is brass. It's layer of gold is much thicker, a standard of 5% of the item's total weight, compared to the 0.5% layer of gold in gold plated jewelry. This means that gold filled jewelry is more valuable, durable and less likely to wear off over time. Gold filled jewelry is also hypoallergenic, which means it's unlikely to cause skin irritation, making it a good choice for people with sensitive skin.

Gold Vermeil

(Pronounced 'Ver-May') Our gold vermeil pieces are a '925' Sterling Silver base with a 14K plating at a minimum of 2.5 microns. This is more than double the legal standard for gold vermeil pieces to ensure a long lasting shine and strong finish. When it comes to the karats of a gold vermeil coating, 14K is the ideal finish as it is strong, which prevents scratching, and provides a beautiful shine. Gold vermeil is durable enough to wear everyday and is not susceptible to tarnish. It can be worn in the water and shower, although doing this excessively can lessen its lifespan, so we recommend removing pieces whenever possible.

Gold PVD

Our 18K Gold PVD is made of stainless steel or sterling silver base metal and uses an electroplating process to vacuum seal the layers of gold onto the metal. This makes the jewelry water and sweat resistant, anti-tarnish, and hypoallergenic. PVD jewelry is meant to provide a long lasting option that works with your lifestyle.
